Two new fantastic projects by the English Steve Rowlands aka Full Moon Scientist and Amusiana.
The album of "Folie à Deux" is produced by Steve and is centered on Johnny Coughlin on vocals and guitar. Powder To The People is a rumba steeped in trielina, No 2 - It The Same opens as a phantasmagoria and then opens up a intoxicated wavey flower, Scratch & Sniff a fluorescent dub with Clash quotes, the title-track a mix of art-rock and progressive, Crooked Man is a sophisticated Bowiano game, funky instrumental Culacino all breaks, clavinet and guitar riffs with electronic free form digressions, Bones Of Sanjopor descended into Arabic settings that, Creak & Smell attacks a church organ and goes lopsided on rhythms that and evolutions toy, one voice, a low-key speech,
This Is Not A Riot and Better Place are two delicious pasticas that close a bizarre and vocal record.
"Dubiana" is instead a dub fantasy, it opens with a version of the Full Moon Scientists of Scratch & Sniff of the Folie à Deux, then alternating another vibrating java cana 3D shot and shaken me diorientale in Black Rainbow, techno in Hierophant Dub, electrons melodic in Weird Creatures, and again the dangling Corona Dub, the flamenco abstract of Bronze Flamingo, the atmospheric Dark Shots, the rhythmic rusts of McRocka, the derale and very sweet Caves Of Hyperion, the velvety Dubmarine, the afro vibes by Africcordian, Osiris's elegiac guitar drone. Catching the attention of Leftfield's Neil Barnes & Paul Daley, who subsequently signed them to their legendary 'Hard Hands' label.
They recorded their debut 'The Men in White Coats', a few singles, and a mini album for Hard Hands, before moving to Botchit & Scarper.
